Two Opportunities: Leading Hand Detention Tanks & Leading Hand Rotational Moulding

We are looking for experienced, hands-on leaders for the following teams:

Role Focus: Detention Tanks vs. Rotational Moulding

While both roles are hands-on leadership positions reporting to a Production Manager, the day-to-day focus of the work is quite different:

  • Leading Hand – Detention Tanks: This role is centered on the plastic welding and fabrication of large-scale water management products, including detention tanks, pump stations, rainworx systems, and ground anchors. You will lead a team of about eight, focusing heavily on ensuring strict quality control checks are performed according to APD specifications for these fabricated products. You’ll also be a part of the production team, assisting with building and installing components.
  • Leading Hand – Rotational Moulding: This role is centered on our rotational moulding operations. You will supervise and coordinate a team of approximately three people to ensure production schedules are met. You will be crucial in monitoring and controlling production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize waste, while also serving as the primary resource for troubleshooting onsite machine issues specific to rotational moulding.

If you’re a proactive, safety-focused leader with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment, one of these roles is for you!

About the Roles

As a Leading Hand in either team, you’ll be the crucial link between the factory floor and management. Your primary focus will be ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of your specific production line.

Key Responsibilities (Applicable to Both Roles):

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a small production team to achieve daily targets and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Production Oversight: Plan and organise daily work assignments, ensuring efficient use of resources, time, and machinery.
  • Safety Champion: Lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment, conducting toolbox talks, and ensuring strict adherence to all Health & Safety policies.
  • Quality Control: Conduct in-process quality checks and ensure all products meet specification before sign-off.
  • Hands-on Work: Be prepared to work alongside your team, providing technical guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Communication: Act as the main point of contact for your team, effectively liaising with the Production Manager and other departments.

What will you bring:

  • Proven experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisor role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team successfully.
  • A strong understanding of a manufacturing environment and the unique challenges it presents.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, initiative, and drive.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for effective team leadership, delegation, conflict resolution, and promoting a rigorous Health and Safety culture.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, if required.
