About your new role:

This pivotal role will see you manage and work with customers across the Wastewater, Stormwater and Hazardous Substances management industries. You will have the opportunity to partner with a diverse range of clients including Architects, Engineers, Specifiers, and Consultants, focusing on unique project specifications, identifying solutions and uncovering business opportunities. You will be part of a talented sales team who can provide you with in depth technical capability and support where required to ensure a successful client outcome.

Your role will be instrumental in shaping a safer and more prosperous future, your days will include

  • Working closely with the sales team, developing and implementing plans to engage, inform and influence the specifier community
  • Actively seeking out new projects that involve specifying a diverse range of APD products
  • Preserve and expand your network of key contacts within the specification community
  • Maximise new specification opportunities among engineers, architects, and consultants, improving market share and profitability
  • Maintain and expand your network of key contacts within the local and regional regulatory authorities
  • Build a more comprehensive understanding of project channel management, covering architects, builders, engineers, and consultants
  • Gather market intelligence and assess opportunities for the business across New Zealand, in accordance with APD’s business principles
  • Develop and build APD’S market presence
  • Work with local and regional authorities to ensure APD products are approved and understood
  • Craft and execute key strategies for local and regional authorities

You will bring:

  • Solid sales background – a successful track record
  • Strong communication skills – able to build relationships with other employees easily
  • Persistence – A track record of building successful executive level relationships
  • Innovative, be solution focused, able to think outside the square
  • Structure – demonstrate effective call cycles and ability to change direction
  • Proficiency – confident using Windows suite and CRM systems

Knowledge of wastewater and stormwater regulations across the New Zealand regions along with knowledge of Hazardous substance storage would be advantageous but not a pre-requisite. A tertiary qualification in a technical discipline or an industry specification would also be an advantage.

Outstanding opportunity for an experienced, skilled Leading Hand to take up this exciting new challenge in the manufacturing space!

About the role

Reporting to the Production Manager Rotational Moulding, our new Leading Hand is responsible for the supervision of our Rotational Moulding team, overseeing and coordinating the activities of these team members to ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.

This is a hands on leadership role where you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the production processes, identifying and correcting any production issues while uncovering opportunities to optimise efficiency and minimise waste. This diverse opportunity will also see you assist with training and development of the team ensuring a high level of skill development.

Your key responsibilities include

  • Supervising, leading and motivating your team to successfully achieve production targets
  • Provide hands on supervision and guidance around training and development
  • Monitor production progress and quality of products to ensure quality is maintained
  • Ensure the team follow Health and Safety guidelines and act safely at all times
  • Coordinate daily targets, identify process or machine issues and troubleshoot onsite machine issues
  • Communicate changes or challenges within the production schedules to relevant parties

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisor role within the manufacturing sector
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team successfully
  • Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm approach
  • Strong understanding of a manufacturing environment and the unique challenges it can present
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a real focus on Health and Safety
  • Initiative and drive – finding ways to continuously improve how we do things
  • Flexibility, able to work overtime including weekend work if required
